Youth Forum
Youth Forum
The Youth Forum is one of the key initiatives of the Jammu and Kashmir Policy Institute that aims at providing a platform to youth voices to raise their concerns on various issues that concern them directly. It’s proven that youth create a demographic dividend for any country with their positive energy, problem-solving skills, and innovative approaches. They are tech-savvy, driven to bring social change, and leading interventions to make lives better. However, they remain far away from the policymaking spectrum and decision-making process, leading to irrelevant policies, unmet needs, and assumptions-based policies with no substantial change. It’s the time to give the deserved space to youth to decide about their present and their future. With the focus on recognizing and bringing to light the positive role that youth play in society on different fronts, we bring to you ‘Youth Forum’.
We have successfully conducted two regional youth forums on-
1. ‘Youth in Afghanistan Peace Process: Voices of Diversity and Inclusion’ with three youth experts from the region
2. ‘Gender-based Violence: The Way Forward’ with six youth experts from South Asia.
In the upcoming youth forum on ‘Youth in Public Policy, we are shifting the focus at the national level and bringing together young leaders from across India to discuss the current/21st century trends and scope for youth in public policy.
