Simran Kour
Simran Kour, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, is a dedicated Peace Educator currently serving at the SomosCaPAZes NGO in Bogotá, Colombia. With a passion for fostering understanding and harmony, she has accumulated a wealth of experience in various facets of education and social work. Beginning her career, Simran spent over five years in prestigious private schools, where she imparted her expertise in the French language to young learners. Recognizing the importance of education as a tool for social change, she founded Eqra, a charitable trust committed to promoting Peace Education, Communal Harmony, and Mental Health, and providing Free Education to orphans and disabled children. Simran's commitment to community upliftment extends beyond her role at Eqra. She actively volunteers with another NGO dedicated to educating underprivileged children in her native Jammu. Her dedication to sharing knowledge and inspiring others spans across age groups, as she finds joy in both teaching children and guiding adults. Drawing from her extensive experience, Simran possesses strong leadership skills and excels in training, motivating, and developing individuals. Her hands-on involvement with NGOs has provided her with valuable insights into the complexities of conflict, particularly in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Leveraging this knowledge, she has spearheaded the development and implementation of training modules focused on "Healing and Transformation" through Conscious Leadership. Despite juggling multiple responsibilities, including part-time NGO work alongside academic pursuits, Simran consistently meets deadlines and delivers exceptional results. Her dedication to global peace initiatives is evident through her membership in esteemed organizations such as the Global Peace Hub by the Swedish Development Forum and the Indian Coalition on Youth, Peace, and Security.
