Peerzada Muneer
Peerzada Muneer is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Comparative Religions and Civilizations, Jamia Millia Islamia, having submitted his thesis titled “Hermeneutics of Religious Other(ness) in Emmanuel Levinas: A Critical Study,” Muneer has completed his masters in Comparative Religions from the Central University of Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir, India. His academic journey includes achievements such as clearing the State and National Eligibility Tests, securing a Junior Research Fellowship in Comparative Study of Religions in 2019, and being promoted to Senior Research Fellow in 2021. He is interested in the subject of religion and philosophy of religion and deals with the concepts of religious identity, religious alterity, interreligious hermeneutics, and interreligious dialogue for peace and harmony. He is interested in the comparative study of religions that enhances the possibility of interreligious and interfaith dialogue in the world aspiring for a more peaceful and content life. Furthermore, he is a published author and also a passionate op-ed contributor, addressing critical issues related to religion, gender equity, and societal concerns. In parallel, his hands-on involvement in social and community development, particularly in roles like Manager and Superintendent at Ali’s Sports Academy and Organizing Secretary at Volleyball Association Bandipora, highlights his commitment to making a positive impact on society.
